SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
If you’ve been suffering from back pain for a while, Spinal Decompression may be right for you. At Appleton Spine, we use decompression therapy as a non-surgical method of relieving upper, mid, lower and neck pain. The decompression machine is gentle and effective. Its motorized traction device helps relieve back pain by gently stretching the spine. Taking the pressure off the spine structure helps remove any interferences and promote healthy flow of water, oxygen and nutrient-rich fluids into the disks throughout the spine and trigger your body back to a healthy state. Patients most interested in spinal decompression therapy’s effectiveness have often tried other conventional or surgical treatments that have failed.
WHY DO THE DISCS IN THE SPINE BREAKDOWN?
The spine is made up of dozens of bones and cushioned by a discs called intervertebral discs. Over time with use and poor posture the discs will degenerate which affects the intervertebral discs.
IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?
Anyone with back pain or neck pain caused in whole or in part by a damaged disc may find benefit from spinal decompression therapy. These conditions include herniated, protruding or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome, or arm tingling or leg pain/numbness associated with spinal nerve irritation.
BENEFITS OF SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
#1: Short Recovery Time
Spinal surgery can keep you locked up in your bed for a long duration. And being bed-ridden can be of very discomforting. However…with nonsurgical decompression, the recovery time is very short.
#2: Reduced Pain
Spinal Decompression Therapy addresses the root cause of the backaches and promotes the healing of the spinal disk to quicken the reduction of backaches.
#3: Non-invasive Treatment
When you undergo nonsurgical spinal decompression, no needle or insertion is necessary. The treatment involves the manipulation of the spine by the chiropractors without any surgery.
ARE THE SESSIONS PAINFUL?
In almost all cases, treatments are virtually painless. In fact, some of our patients have even fallen asleep during the spinal decompression session. Our spinal decompression table ensures that each treatment is optimized for your particular body, virtually eliminating any pain during the treatment. A harness is placed around the hips and is attached to the foot side of the equipment. The lower half of the table slides back and forth with a back and forth with a setting of a calculated number pounds of force while the upper portion remains fixed, creating an alternating axial decompression and rest.
